The Cruse Poetry Competition (2008)
Poems on loss and bereavement

Does poetry help when nothing else can?
Have you ever felt the need to put pen to paper?
Might your words comfort someone else in their grief?

Cruse Tyneside presents its first fund-raising poetry competition on the theme of bereavement and loss.  There are two categories:

Cat 1 - 14 - 18 years
Cat 2 - Over 18 years

The competition’s final judge will be the award-winning poet, Linda France.  The competition was launched with a Writing Workshop by Linda  at Hexham Writers’ Festival over 2nd, 3rd & 4th November 2007.

It is hoped that an anthology will be published and will include the best poems from the competition.  There will be a reading and presentation of prizes at the Literary & Philosophical Society, Newcastle Upon Tyne in September 2008.
Competition Entry Fees

£5 per entry of 1 - 5 poems

£10 for a copy of the anthology

£5 invited as a donation to the work of Cruse Bereavement Care in the North East.
